Bout That Life — A review

When I first picked up “About That Life”, I set out to learn from my friend Rahshib. As a mentor and coach with a prestigious program that I have been intending to go through myself for some time (schedule permitting) I was sure that there would be some magic here.

The magic was there, but much more than that, in my journey to learning from the great man that I am honoured to call my friend, I wound up learning about the makings of the great man I am honoured to call my friend.

Another dear friend of mine, Amela, who invited me to the event where I met Rahshib, always describes him as loving and polished. Seeing the path to the man I know today was insightful and expansive, and understanding more about him and his journey from the reading of this book, I truly believe will empower a deeper connection to a wonderful human who always gives so much of himself.

The points and lessons could be on a list, but the stories we glean these lessons from provide and context and also opportunity for impact of the personal nature of the vulnerable shares. This book was not only an insightful roadmap into an empowered life but a beautifully crafted permission slip to stand vulnerably in the greatness that I am blessed to offer the world.

Starting his book with the big question of shame and how points of shame and not belonging informed turning points in his life also rung true with my own big moments, especially my dance with suicide and the birth of Beyond Intention.

Thank you Rahshib, for this gift to the world and for all that you are.
